Below are a few of the conferences the Dempster Family Foundation has recently attended:

Meeting — Behavior and Learning in School-aged Children with 22q11.2 DS, April 30-May 1, 2011
The Dempster Foundation recently co-sponsored The Behavior & Learning in School-aged Children with 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 30th-May1st. Close to one hundred parents and children from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, New York and more attended the conference. This educational opportunity provided parents with tools and information for school-aged children with 22q. The meeting provided meaningful information on many levels for many of the parents, from the dad who had never met another 22q parent to the mom and dad that paid to bring their child’s teacher to this meeting so she would better understand his educational needs moving forward. These are only two examples of how valuable educational opportunities are needed for the 22q11.2 DS community! We sincerely thank Elwyn Genetics, the Intn’l 22q11.2 DS Foundation and each presenter for their time and dedication to the 22q11.2DS community. The Dempster Foundation was honored to play a role in such a wonderful meeting! Below are topics covered at the conference or for more information contact Michelle Breedlove-Sells, Director of Development for the Dempster Family Foundation at mbreedlovesells@dempsterfamilyfoundation.org.
