Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster took time out from his baseball schedule on Wednesday, May 29th in Philadelphia to visit with families with children with a 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS) at the “22q and You” Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Ryan passed out Dempster Family Foundation T-Shirts and back packs and 22q bears provided by CHOP. He also signed autographs and took photos with all the children and their families. Ryan also shared his vision and mission of the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation which supports children with 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS). Part of the mission of the Dempster Family Foundation is to help support and expand existing 22q clinics like the “22q and You” Center at CHOP as well as create new 22q clinics in targeted areas around the county.
