The Dempster Family Foundation is proud to sponsor a walk team in the 2012 March of Dimes March for Babies.
Join our team or donate to our cause! Families can stop by our Foundation tent and will enjoy a fun day at the walk with entertainment, food and crafts for everyone. Together we can hit our goal of the day when all babies are born healthy!
March of Dimes’ Mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. They carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies’ lives.
In fall 2011, the March of Dimes Illinois Chapter teamed up with the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation to spread awareness about 22q or DiGeorge Syndrome, which is the most frequent cause of syndromic palatal defects and is found in 1 of 68 children born with a heart defect. An early diagnosis led to a swift plan of action for Riley, who is now hitting developmental milestones on target and enjoying life every day.
Thanks to the March of Dimes dedicated volunteers and gracious sponsors, they have funded $3.2 million in the past 27 years to find the causes of this chromosal abnormality. It is March of Dimes goal to see all babies are born healthy one day.
