The Dempster Family Foundation and the Chicago Cubs are teaming up to host “22q Day” at Wrigley Field on Friday, April 22, 2011 when the Cubs host the L.A. Dodgers to create awareness and generate support for 22q families and children with the disorder. Fans at the ballpark that day will receive a special Ryan Dempster photo card with Dempster Family Foundation and 22q information.
The Dempster Family Foundation and the Chicago Cubs will host several 22q children and their families at the game that day. The children and their families will be invited to watch batting practice and meet Cubs Pitcher Ryan Dempster prior to the game.
Abby Oates, a child affected with the 22q deletion will throw out the first pitch. Fans will have several opportunities to support The Dempster Family Foundation that day through donations as well as donating via the Dempster Family Foundation Mobile Giving campaign by texting DEMPSTER to 20222.
