Welcome to the Dempster Family Foundation Race Page

Thank you for your interest in joining the Dempster Family Foundation Bank of American Chicago Marathon Team! Registration for the Chicago Marathon sold out in a record 6 days! The Bank of America Chicago Marathon takes place Sunday, Oct. 7! Join our team by signing up below and run the marathon to support families of children with 22q, and other local charities in Chicagoland! As a member of the Dempster Family Foundation team, you will receive excellent incentive prizes for those dedicated team members who reach the $2,200 and $4,600 fundraising levels. FOUNDATION VISION STATEMENT

The Dempster Family Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of 22q11.2 deletion (DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS) and reaching out to families with children with the disorder, and the charities that support them, to help them deal with difficult situations they face each day. Pitching in to raise awareness and help support children with 22q, as well as other charities in the Chicagoland area serving children in need.

FOUNDATION MISSION STATEMENT

The  Dempster Family Foundation provides financial support to charities in the Chicagoland area which assist and comfort critically ill children. The foundation also supports youth baseball programs, military families and animal shelters; and promotes awareness of, and offers hope for families of children diagnosed with a 22q11.2 deletion. On the 22q side, the Foundation empowers organizations to help children with this disorder overcome difficult situations through:

  • providing funding to continue research for early detection of this disorder in children;
  • supporting programs about 22q that provide education, physical therapy and activity to promote long-term well being;
  • creating initiatives that build and instill confidence in these children; and
  • developing a 22q network for families affected by this disorder to share stories and help navigate healthcare options and treatment.
