As Ryan Dempster battled in Chicago Cubs spring training, his daughter was about to begin the fight of her life. But soon after her birth, they learned something was very wrong.

The daughter of Chicago Cub’s pitcher Ryan Dempster is fighting a rare swallowing disorder called DiGeorge Syndrome.

Although their husbands play baseball, it’s not all fun and games for their wives. Many of the players’ wives work hard at charity events, helping to raise money for several community groups and organizations.
